In another jolt to Delhi University’s authorities, an Right to Information Inquiry (RTI) has revealed that four member of non-teaching staff were appointed even as there is no record of their written examination.

For example, one candidate Abhishek (roll number- 911100264), who did not even appear for the examination was selected. Similarly, four other candidates were also appointed on basis on the same grounds.

‘There have been irregularities in appointments. The concerned ministry should look into this and set up a committee and probe the matter,’ said Rajiv Prashar, who filed the RTI application. According to the RTI, Babita Sharma, Ravinder Sish, Chetan Vats and Suman were there in final list of candidates selected for Junior Assistant’s post.  But there were no records of their written examination marks.

Similarly, marks of four other candidates have been changed in final merit list.

Meanwhile, the non-teaching staff of DU have decided to protest against the authorities. ‘We will protest against such corrupt culture within the university. We will approach UGC and Human Resource Development ministry to thoroughly probe the case’, said Raj Kumar Paswan, who is a member of non-teaching staff at DU.

The Delhi University has also set up committee to look in the issue. ‘We have set up a one man inquiry committee to probe the matter. The committee will soon submit its report to Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh,’ said Malay Neerav, Delhi University’s media coordinator and Joint Dean of Students’ Welfare.
